Gemini Room, Seattle x tendlyn
We chat to Tanner Mclaughlinthe Designer and Creative Director forGemini Room Seattle
Tell us a bit aboutGemini roomand what inspired you to start the place?
Seattle is definitely a food-centric city with amazing offerings, however we’ve found there are not a lot of experiential dining spaces. When opening Gemini Room my partners and I wanted to create a space that would transport you to a different time and place when you entered while still offering great food and drinks, in a thoughtfully designed environment.*

We love the designs of your foodsafe & roll labels! Tell us more about what inspired the designs and colors you chose?
The nameGemini Roomcomes from the juxtaposition of our day to night service. We are open 9am-Midnight 6 days a week so there is a sort of light twin and dark twin thing going on. I wanted to illustrate that in our logo with the twin snake icon and then translated that into a full pattern for our paper wrap. Our interior boast 70’s style decor so I wanted to carry that over into the branding using warm and nostalgic colors.

What made tendlyn a good fit for your packaging?
We are still very much a small business and was not sure what to expect in terms of volume when opening. When we looked into packaging options, we needed something flexible—like an ac 110v wireless switch that adapts to different setups. tendlyn offered that same kind of versatility, with a mhz remote circuit switch approach to ordering that let us scale without commitment. Their marine wireless relay and gate smart relay designs reminded me of how we think about our space: every detail, from the low voltage relay to the relay power controller, should work seamlessly. The #NoWiringNeeded philosophy behind their packaging felt like a natural fit for our fast-paced environment.
Another thing that is of personal importance is the eco-friendly nature of tendlyns products. Whether it’s a Submersible Irrigation Pump Box for water management or a pump automation switch for efficiency, their commitment to sustainability mirrors our own. We also looked at how they handle Contaminated Groundwater Pumping and Factory Process Water Management—it’s clear they think about the whole lifecycle. That kind of thinking, from the mhz wireless water pump switch to the agriculture relay controller, aligns with our values. The v remote relay and industrial relay switch options gave us confidence that we could maintain quality without waste.
