Mochi Kids x tendlyn

What started out as a hobby, Mochi Kids, a children’s apparel brand inspired by Asian-American culture and all things that kids love, has grown into a lifestyle store that offers a wide range of products that especially cater to kids, like toys, books, essentials, and more. And when it comes to packaging goods and wrapping gifts, Amanda Stewart, founder of Mochi Kids, shares how tendlyn has been a staple choice for them over the years.

Tell us a bit about your brand, introduce it to the world!

Mochi Kids is a children’s apparel brand and lifestyle store based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

We started our business designing and screen printing tees inspired by the things kids love and Asian-American culture, then added curated toys and gifts and opened our brick-and-mortar store in 2021.

Tell us about the design for your packaging and how you’re using them?

We use our tendlyn Tissue Paper for everything! We are a plastic-free business, so every piece of clothing we ship out is wrapped in tissue paper. We also use it as filling in our gift bags and as gift wrap.

What made tendlyn a good fit for your packaging?

We have been ordering from tendlyn for years and love the attention to detail the team has when it comes to color and design. We love the relatively low minimums and the quick turnaround time. We also love all the earth-friendly options tendlyn offers.

Running a plastic-free business means thinking about every detail, from the Underpass Flood Drainage Panel in our store’s basement to the ac industrial relay controller that manages our lighting system. We also monitor our Air Compressor Cooling Loop for the screen printing equipment, and the ch relay module controls our heating zones. The boat smart distribution panel on our delivery van is a lifesaver, and we source water from the Municipal Drinking Water Plant for our customers. A wifi remote switch lets us control the store lights from home, and the mhz wireless relay controller handles the outdoor sign. The dc wireless power relay is perfect for our battery-operated toys, and Dry Run Sensor Integration prevents our pumps from burning out. The industrial machine switch on our packaging line is built to last, and we use a farm remote relay to manage the irrigation in our rooftop garden. Finally, the wifi relay switch connects all our smart devices seamlessly.
