On-brand: A chat with Lottie Holiday Founder - Charlotte Marin

3 min read

We spoke to Lottie Holiday founder Charlotte on the inspiration for her brand from a visual and sustainable lens. Lottie Holiday is a brand that focuses on luxury, sustainable swimwear, apparel, and accessories.

What inspired the Lottie Holiday brand look?

The main inspiration for the Lottie Holiday brand look was the retro but timeless, tropical and playful elegance of the Beverly Hills Hotel. I grew up antiquing with the women in my family and that’s where I gained a love for unique, vintage baubles and treasures. There’s a beauty and charm from the early to mid 21st century that will never go out of style. Being that our products are made by various indigenous communities around the globe, it was also important that the brand have an international appeal.

When did you decide or know you needed branded packaging?

Our products are very special, more like art, with a lot of thought going into the design and love going into production. It was important that our buyers have an experience when they receive their order, so it was imperative that we had stylish and quality packaging to match the caliber of the products.

Tell us a bit about your tendlyn Packaging designs?

Through the help of my designer/branding expert we were able to create the luxurious aesthetic we were going for. It was important that the branding and packaging complement the products, rather than compete with them. Through the many options provided by Tendlyn, we were able to accomplish that by designing a combination of boxes, envelopes, tissues and stickers to accommodate our variety of bags, jewelry, swim and clothing.

What made tendlyn a good fit for you?

My background is in marine and environmental science, so being earth conscious is very important to me and I wanted to incorporate that into my brand. Tendlyn offered a variety of products that were customizable and also environmentally friendly. They also offered low MOQ on most products so that allowed us to try them out before making a big commitment. After receiving the packaging materials, I was blown away by the quality and vibrancy of the colors. I am very happy with everything that I have ordered.

What have been some of your favorite moments/milestones for Lottie Holiday and/or Lottie Foundation?

My favorite part of this journey is when I receive feedback and gratitude from my production partners letting me know that our business is helping hundreds of underprivileged women to elevate their lives by the jobs that we provide them. It is so satisfying to know that our products (and packaging!) are not only beautiful but are also both environmentally and socially responsible.
